The fourth quarter of 2020 saw interesting developments in the city building game category on the iOS platform in Brazil. Sensor Tower's data provides us with a clear perspective on how these games performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

SimCity BuildIt, published by Electronic Arts, showed a steady increase in both downloads and revenue towards the end of Q4, with downloads peaking at 5.16K and revenue at $4.7K in the last week of December. The game’s weekly active users also saw an uptick, reaching around 44K in the same period.

The Simpsons™: Tapped Out, another title from Electronic Arts, experienced its highest revenue of $3.9K in mid-November and maintained a consistent download rate, concluding the quarter with 2.9K downloads in the final week. The weekly active users showed a slight rise, ending at approximately 17K.

The Tribez: Build a Village by Game Insight had modest numbers compared to the others, with revenue reaching $268 in the last week of December and downloads at 25 in the same period. The game's active users remained stable, with a slight increase to 336 by the close of Q4.

Social Quantum's Megapolis: City Building Sim saw a significant revenue spike in the first week of December, hitting $525. Downloads for the game also rose, finishing at 809 in the final week of the quarter. Weekly active users showed improvement, with a count of 694 at the end of December.

Lastly, Sid Meier's Civilization® VI, published by Aspyr Media, Inc., had a more stable quarter with slight fluctuations. The game's revenue was at its highest, $337, in mid-November and saw an end-of-quarter increase in downloads to 290. The weekly active user count remained robust, with the game finishing the quarter with 6.2K users.
